This team attends to our physical plant and maintenance issues. This includes everything from repairing toilets, replacing lights, purchasing kitchen and paper supplies to heating and cooling, tree removal, and emergency repairs. In addition, the team oversees our landscaping on the church grounds and in the memorial garden.
Children and Youth Religious Education Team
As the visioning body for the C.Y.R.E. program, the team’s responsibilities include policy approval, input into the selection of curriculum, program evaluation, recruitment and support of teachers and advisors, coordination of special R.E. activities such as the Halloween Party, Care Basket Crafts Night, Snacks with Santa, etc., and support for families enrolled in R.E. Members are challenged to be leaders in the church and to always keep in mind the mission of the program: to prepare our children for a lifetime of spiritual and ethical growth by teaching them the Unitarian Universalist principles, exposing them to other faiths, providing experiences of a spiritual nature, and encouraging in them a questioning attitude. The Team works in close coordination with the Director of the CYRE Program.
Communications is charged with looking at our adopted “Ends” statements and developing and monitoring plans to achieve those ends through all of our communication elements and vehicles, including but not limited to: our brand and logo, stationery, Voices newsletter, E-blasts, signage, newspaper advertising and the web site. Starting from a basis of our brand—what we do and what we stand for: Discover deeper spiritual meaning—this team is responsible for creating and overseeing all communication design and content issues, as well as researching and developing new means of reaching our audiences.
Mission Statement: The Congregational Care Team is a group of caring church members who work together to keep members and friends connected to each other and responds to them in times of need.
"We are a joyful, dynamic community of people who care about and are connected to each other...."
The CCT is an arm of the congregation and minister that strives to offer care to members who are experiencing illness, grief, loneliness or other trying times. The CCT meets once a month and relies on the congregation to identify members in need. CCT and their auxiliary members send cards, provide food baskets, host memorials and visit folks who are interested in such care.
A Facilities Envisioning Team has been appointed to study our present building and grounds and to make recommendations as to how best to provide physical facilities as we grow to a congregation of 750 or more. They are in the process of assembling information regarding our facility’s needs and the opportunities and limitations of our present site, as well as considering both the advantages and disadvantages of developing a new site.
The Finance Team serves as an advisory committee to the Coordinating Team, with responsibilities such as reviewing monthly financial data, providing feedback to the Director of Administration about finances and budgeting, reviewing financial policies, recommending policy actions, etc
The Memorial Endowment Trust provides a perpetual, prudently managed fund for generous legacy giving to support the UUCC, its present and future members, and its liberal religious mission.
The Memorial Endowment Trust trustees each serve alternating four-year terms approved by the UUCC board. They provide oversight of the management of the Trust’s assets with the hope that the MET might be a substantial resource to further UUCC goals in the years ahead. See Memorial Endowment Trust.
The Music Team was organized in the fall of 2007 to provide oversight for the music program. The team has developed a set of guiding principles and prepared an envisioning of the music program for several years into the future. In addition, it provides information on the music program to congregants, has prepared a choir handbook and choir directory, planned a music retreat and other special musical presentations, and serves as a supporting body for the Director of Music.
This group of technologically savvy individuals helps with supporting our computers, researching future hardware and software purchases, troubleshooting, etc.
Working closely with the minister, this team offers feedback and guidance about our Sunday Service experience. They meet monthly with the minister to review the last month’s services, offer recommendations, and guide decisions about future speakers and summer topics.
