Sunday Mornings

A/V Support: These tech-savvy people maintain and support the use of audio and video equipment. They help us have sound during services and other events. They also record the service to create the podcast.

Coffee Service: Get to know our other great coffee servers while helping provide the coffee, tea and snacks that help fuel the lively conversations in Freeman Hall.

Ushers: Ushers ensure the sanctuary is ready for the service, welcome members and visitors, pass out orders of service, help people find seats, pass the offering baskets, count attendance, perform a money count and straighten the sanctuary after the service.

Greeters: Our friendly greeters help visitors and new members feel welcomed and connected. They staff the tables in the vestibule and in Freeman Hall, greet visitors, make introductions, provide information and help support new member activities.

Music: On Sunday mornings, as well as for special events within our congregation and in the community, our Music Program offers many ways to share your musical talents.

Children and Youth Religious Education: Help our kids develop spiritually. Teach, assist with social events, social justice activities or community outreach on Sundays and throughout the year.

Office Help: Provide front desk coverage during weekday lunch breaks, meetings and vacations, answer phones, do data entry and online research, as well as prepare mailings.

Building and Maintenance: Use your electrical, carpentry, plumbing or other handy skills to help maintain the building.

Information Technology: Help us with basic maintenance of our computers and technology.

Periodic and One-time

Social Justice: Get involved in one of the many ways our congregation works to increase justice and equity in the Charlotte community and the wider world.

Gardens and Landscaping: Join others in the congregation to help keep our FAITH (Fellowship Actions Impacting the Habitat) certified grounds healthy and beautiful.

Theater: Every year, members write, act, sing and dance to create a new, hilarious original show, “Follies.” Performers, set designers, costumers, A/V techs and prop people all help make this happen.

Congregational Care: By making visits, providing meals or assisting with memorial service receptions, you can help members of our congregation through illness, loss or other hardships. Knit or crochet prayer shawls for people who have experienced a loss or illness.

Community Building: Help plan and coordinate special events, or work on event set-up, cleanup or food preparation.

Our more seasoned volunteers are organized into teams that support and advise the professional staff and help do the heavy lifting that keeps the UUCC running. Team membership is considered a leadership position in the congregation. A complete listing of the teams and their roles is found elsewhere on this site.
