Singer songwriter David Roth will appear in concert at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Charlotte on Saturday, June 3rd at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7). He will also offer a Songwriting Workshop at the church from 3 to 5 p.m. the same day. Concert tickets are $15 (no one turned away), and the workshop costs $20 ($5 off your concert ticket if you attend the workshop). Tickets may be purchased on-line by clicking here or in Freeman Hall after services, beginning May 14.

A gifted composer, David’s songs have found their way to Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, several Chicken Soup for the Soul books, the Kennedy Center, NASA’s Space Shuttle “Atlantis,” Peter, Paul & Mary’s “Discovered,” The Kingston Trio’s “Born at the Right Time,” 13 CDs, and countless venues in this and other countries for two and a half decades. Poignant to improbable, holistic to hilarious, the Chicago native (now living on Cape Cod) returns to North Carolina ~ think James Taylor meets Jon Stewart. The 3-5 p.m. workshop is intended for all levels of experience and ages high school and up, and will be playful, poignant and a powerful process to co-create a custom made song for a sick child and his/her family through the Songs of Love Foundation. Click here to sign up for the workshop.  Within two weeks following the workshop, David will send a finished recording to all participants, plus they’ll have a chance to perform the new song at the 7:30 concert that evening.
