Family Homelessness Panel Discussion

You are invited to join us for a panel discussion of family homelessness at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Charlotte* on June 1, 7-8:30 PM, in the Sanctuary.

Family homelessness has a direct and lasting impact on children, and is a big problem for our community.  In a Harvard study of upward mobility of 50 major cities, Charlotte ranked dead last.  Family homelessness creates generational cycles of poverty, and is one of the contributing factors.

In March, Mecklenburg County released the, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Family Homelessness Snapshot Report, an insightful analysis showing the impact of this problem to our community, and a companion Toolkit with action-oriented recommendations.

Two of the people who helped create this study will guide the discussion, joined by a leader from the school system:
