Chalice Lighters are members of congregations in our (Southeast) District who have pledged financial assistance to other congregations which have applied for assistance in growing and strengthening Unitarian Universalism in their areas. This is a very cost effective and localized way for our members to help grown UUism in the southeast. http://www.seduua.org/services/chalicelighters.html

Our Partner Church:
Partner Church in Szabed, Romania
In 1991, our congregation was paired with a Unitarian church in Szabed, Romania by the UU Partner Church Council. Szabed, a village of about 600 people, is located in the Transylvanian region of northern Romanian. Since 2000, UUCC has held nine coffeehouse fundraisers to benefit our partners, raising more than $16,000 to help finance much needed building repairs and other congregational needs. Over the years, three groups from UUCC have visited Szabed - and in 2011, their minister and his wife visited Charlotte.
