    Fellowship Groups and Gatherings

    Circle Dinners

Interested members are placed on an email list which announces monthly dinners at various members homes. Participants can sign up to attend the potluck dinner based on a first come first served basis. The host determines the size of the party which can range from 8 to over 60. A great way for new members to meet not-so-new members and for everyone to stay connected. Contact: Charlie Clayton, 704-821-9891, charlieclayton@windstream.net.

    First Sunday First Movie Group

This group meets on the first Sunday of each month to go out together for a movie’s first showing, usually around 2 p.m. Members try to pick central locations that are close to a snack or coffee shop for post-movie conversation. Participants share input and suggestions for the direction of the group. For information or to get on the email distribution list, contact Dot Miles, miles2@slu.edu, or Jeannette Manning, manningjea@yahoo.com.

    Men’s Group

A long-standing group of men who offer fellowship and support to each other. This group is currently closed to new members.

    Open Mind Book Club

This group discusses a wide variety of books chosen in advance. Meets on the first Monday of the month in the UUCC Library. Contact Gwynne Movius, 704-366-9409, gmovius@usa.com for current book titles and to RSVP.

    Last Laugh Book Club

A smaller group, this book club meets monthly alternating in different members’ home, and reads and discusses a book. But it is also about socializing and camaraderie. Contact Barbara Busey: bbusey@presentationdynamics.net
