Community Sundays

One Sunday each month, we offer Community Sunday in place of our regular Sunday service. On these Sundays, we gather together for a brief shared worship experience followed by a number of smaller group sessions focused on our monthly worship theme. We strive to offer a balance of sessions that invite participants of all ages to do something active, share a spiritual experience, create music or art, and/or engage in a connective discussion.

Community Sundays offer congregants the chance to connect with one another in deeper and more meaningful ways. The variety of sessions and activities offered invite participants to expand their minds, open their hearts, engage in movement, and experience spiritual depth. The Community Sunday Planning Team and session leaders from the wider congregation develop and lead sessions that are aligned with Unitarian Universalist Values and the Mission and Vision of the UUCC, with the intent to deepen engagement and spiritual development for children, youth, and adults.

In the February 2026 online edition of UU World Magazine, UUCC’s Community Sunday* was honored and recognized! The article coves how UUCC began this innovative program and lifts up the ways it offers multigenerational activities.

The writer, Heather Beasley Doyle, interviewed UUCC staff members Kelly Greene and Tennah Murphy as well as UUCC members Becky Drozdz and Ann Doss Helms.
